Pine
Southern Yellow Pine
Pine is a beautiful, strong, soft wood that is easy to work with. The strength to weight ratio is very high. Pine is a more common wood, which means that it is easy to get and is less expensive than many other woods. It naturally has a neutral color, so it absorbs paint and stain very well. Southern Yellow Pine is a beautiful, grainy wood, and it has the highest density of any other pine. WFP offers Kiln Dried After Treatment (KDAT). This material is pressure treated and dried allowing for immediate application of coatings.
Many choose to go with light weight pine because it provides substantial strength without breaking the bank. Pine is also more commonly available, making it a readily available resource in our facility. The neutral color absorbs paint and stain like a sponge, locking it in for decades. Ask our professionals about the type of pine best suited for your project.
