Stains
Carpentry in Color
Get your wood pre-primed, stained, custom packaged, and delivered right to your job site.
Semi-transparent stains are available in dozens of colors, offering ultimate design flexibility and color-matching options. These stains are tintable to achieve your desired shade, and we encourage visiting your neighborhood PPG store for color selection.
Choosing the Finish
When opting for a factory finish on your lumber, it’s crucial to choose the appropriate finish for the wood grade in use. Ensure that the finish aligns with the wood’s natural characteristics to achieve the desired aesthetic.
Semi-transparent finishes are one-coat applications that preserve the wood’s color variations and grain patterns. Semi-opaque and semi-solid stains also require one-coat but provide more coverage of grain patterns. Solid finishes require multiple coats and cover the true color of the wood subtrate while allowing its texture and natural characteristics to show through.
Remember, at WFP, we’re here to help you select the perfect finish for your project needs.
